Philips Pavilion in 3D computer graphics.
The computer graphics (CG) Pavilion was realized with a try-and-error
procedure by
1)
modeling the pavilion, by taking the floor
plane and raising the hyperbolic paraboloid walls until the pinnacles;
2)
matching the CG model with the
pictures of the original pavilion to locate
projection areas and determine relative sizes of objects;
3)
rendering the CG pavilion, by paying much
attention to the interiors (where the
virtual reality event takes place) and
providing a few draft images of the exteriors for reference purposes.
